Considering yet another incarnation for this season’s ingredients can be a challenge for anyone, least of all, me. As much as I adore the humble broad bean, this season’s rain has made the crop so prolific that thinking of another feast relatively hard work. Today’s creation was “Cowboys and Indians” loosely so called as the 2 main ingredients for this hearty spiced soup are two legumes; the Broad & Barlotti Bean. After tasting this thick soup both boys in my household decided that the name was stupid and abbreviated it to “cowboy soup” as they felt it would do a good job of feeding anyone who’sĀ been working outdoors all day.
